If you love horses and want to help people, CTRH could use your help.
Joining the CTRH team of volunteers is easy and incredibly rewarding. Horse experience isn’t necessary, nor is experience working with people with disabilities.
Anyone age 14 and up can apply. Our volunteers include retirees, working adults and students. They assist riders and participants in classes designed for children, adults and military veterans.
Volunteer positions are progressive in nature, meaning we’re continually increasing the skills sets of our volunteers, both in terms of interacting with people and with horses.
The current volunteer positions are listed below in the general order of progression:
1. Side Walker in adaptive recreational riding classes
2. Horse Leader in adaptive recreational riding classes
3. Horse Leader in W.O.R.T.H., our programming for military veterans
Catch & Halter
Ability to tack a horse
If you are interested in volunteering, and are at least 14 years old, you can find all the forms and information you need in the "New Volunteer Application" (below). Completely fill out all pages and mail or fax them back to CTRH. You must attend a training session before volunteering. Training sessions are scheduled several times each year and are listed on the last page of the Application.
